UTICA -- Authorities say they're looking for the driver of a car that struck a six-year-old girl after fleeing the scene of a shooting in Utica.
Police say when emergency crews arrived on the 1500 block of Dudley Avenue Thursday evening, they didn't find a shooting victim but learned soon after that a girl had been struck nearby by a vehicle fleeing the scene.
Officials say the girl was treated for minor injuries. A man was later treated at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The driver of the car fled on foot. Police have impounded the vehicle he was driving. No arrests have been made.
Utica Police say since April they have responded to that same block of Dudley Avenue for shots fired calls six times. They ask that anyone with information on any of these cases call the Criminal Investigation Division at 223-3510. All calls may be kept confidential.
