BUFFALO -- A law enforcement official says a body has been found near the home of a trauma surgeon sought after the killing of his ex-girlfriend in a Buffalo hospital.
WGRZ-TV in Buffalo reports that Doctor Timothy Jorden has been found dead in the woods behind his suburban Buffalo home.
Police have been searching for 49-year-old Jorden since Wednesday morning. An official tells The Associated Press that a body was found Friday near his home.
It couldn't immediately be confirmed whether the body was Jorden's. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was continuing.
Buffalo police say they have reason to believe Jorden shot his ex-girlfriend, 33-year-old Jacqueline Wisniewski, Wednesday morning in a stairwell at the Erie County Medical Center where they both worked. The search for the former special soldier began Wednesday morning.
Funeral services are scheduled this weekend for the single mother. A Mass will be held Saturday at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo.
WGRZ-TV reports that a trust fund has been established to assist Wisniewski's 4-year-old son.
