MINOA (AP) -- Nearly 300 motorcyclists are expected to make a 70-mile ride in support of injured military troops in the second-annual Wounded Warrior Ride in Central New York.

The Oneida Daily Dispatch reports that Saturday's fundraiser starts and ends at Lewis Park Field in Minoa, seven miles southwest of Syracuse. It will travel through Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties.

The ride raises money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a national organization that provides programs that help overcome combat stress and trauma while encouraging economic stability and social engagement. It also provides support for families of service members.

The groups sponsoring the event are comprised of active and retired law enforcement officers and first responders, including the Blue Knight Club.
