Syracuse Price Chopper apparent abduction is a hoax

Syracuse Police have revealed the apparent abduction captured on security video at the Price Chopper on Midler Avenue in Syracuse was a hoax.

Sgt. Tom Connellan told CNY Central Tuesday night in a statement that the two people involved came forward to admit what they had done.

A 17-year-old male and two female juveniles who came forward. After extensive interviews detectives determined the three were the people involved in the hoax.  The investigation is ongoing and charges will be coming against the teens.

Parking lot security video showed a man putting a woman in the trunk of a car and speeding off.  Several people in the parking lot of Price Chopper saw it happen around 10:45 on Monday night.
