CORTLAND -- Cortland police have arrested a second person in connection with a gang-related assault on Main Street.

The assault left Robert Miller, 25, with a critical head injury just after midnight Saturday morning.

Police arrested 22-year-old Marcus J. Delige, of Cortland, for first degree gang assault, second degree assault, and conspiracy.

Police say they interviewed a number of people in the area of the incident and identified several witnesses.

Police say an investigation found that Delige and Kaywon L. Pittman were part of a group of individuals who planned and executed the assault on Miller.

Pittman was arrested in connection with the attack earlier this week and police say they anticipate additional arrests.

Delige was arraigned and remanded to Cortland County Jail on $50,000 cash and $100,000 bond.

Miller remains in critical condition at SUNY Upstate Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Cortland City Police at (607) 753-3001, extension 0.
