Two suspected robbers got more than they bargained for when they tried to rob a New Bedford, Massachusetts convenience store.
MASSACHUSETTS --
Surveillance video taken Friday night inside the St. Elias Mini Market shows two masked men with knives entering the store.

The owner of the market, who had been robbed at gunpoint earlier last week, picked up a stick and fought back.

One of the suspects also picked up a stick and attacked the owner.

At one point, the owner grabbed a metal display shelf and swung it at a suspect.

Police said workers from a nearby Mexican restaurant came to help and subdue one of the suspects.

Leland Blake-Rosa, 25, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and assault and battery.

Police said the second suspect remains at-large.
