Man arrested after stabbing in Auburn

AUBURN, NY -- An Auburn man is under arrest after a stabbing on Spring St. in Auburn.

Police say around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, they were called to 3 Spring St. for a report of a fight with a man falling into a window.

They found a 22-year-old victim who had been stabbed twice in the abdomen.

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he had surgery.

Police arrested Marcus J. Gaffney, of Spring St. in Auburn, for the crime. He was charged with 1st degree assault and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Auburn Police at (315) 253-3231.
