PAMELIA -- A man who was directing traffic on State Route 12 in the Town of Pamelia on Thursday was hit and killed by a passing car.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Travis E. Fuller, of Gouverneur, was flagging traffic for Jefferson Concrete when he was hit by a car.

Officials say he was trying to stop traffic as a truck moving a concrete object was pulling out of a concrete plant.

The car was operated by 76-year-old Robert Kelsey of La Fargevilla. Kelsey and his passenger were not injured.

Fuller was taken to Samaritan Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
