A Rome man faces both drug and traffic charges, after his car hit another in a convenience store parking lot on Friday evening.

New Hartford Police say it happened just after 6 Friday evening.  The car driven by 22 year old Willam Hall, from Rome, went off Burrstone Road and into the Nice & Easy parking lot, hitting a parked car.  Hall's vehicle was smashed in, in the front, and he was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment.

Police investigators say Hall was under the influence of heroin at the time of the crash.  They say they found heroin, as well as a hypodermic needle in his possession.   Besides drug charges, he faces charges of driving with a suspended registration, operating without insurance, and providing an invalid insurance card.
