ELLISBURG, NY -- One man was killed and another airlifted to the hospital on Saturday evening after the car they were in rolled over several times in the Town of Ellisburg.

Jefferson County Sheriffs say Gaige Knapp, 19, of Watertown and Trevor Robinson, 17, of Adams, were driving Knapp's 2000 Chevrolet Corvette south on State Route 289 on Saturday at around 8:40 p.m. The car exited the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled over several times before coming to rest on the roof of the vehicle.

Knapp, who was driving the Corvette, was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for treatment. Robinson died at the scene. Sheriffs say speed is believed to be a factor in the accident.
