FABIUS -- Central New York’s newest millionaire is 53-year-old Ed Bobbette, Jr. from Fabius.
He a won a million dollars playing the New York Lottery Mega Millions.
Bobbette bought the winning ticket at the Pompey Mall gas station on August 21.
The New York Lottery presented Bobbette with a million dollar check Wednesday morning.
Bobbette says he has been playing the same five numbers for the past ten years.
Mega Millions players like Bobbette who match the first five numbers usually win $250,000, but because Bobbette paid an extra dollar for a multiplier ticket, his prize was boosted to 1 million.
Bobbette works for the Fabius Highway Department but he says he has no plans to quit his job.
"I'm probably going to pay off my house, buy a car and put the rest in the bank. Probably other than that, I really don't have any plans right now," he says.
The New York Lottery says Bobbette is the fourth person in Onondaga County to win a million dollars or more playing Mega Millions this year.
