SYRACUSE -- More than seven individuals are charged in connection with a Syracuse based heroine ring.
The arrests stem from a Syracuse Police investigation. Police say the group was engaged in the middle to upper level sales of heroin in the Syracuse area and supplied heroin to lower level dealers throughout Central New York.
The group was reportedly involved in several weapons related incidents on Syracuse’s near west side.
The Syracuse Police SWAT team executed search warrants on Wednesday and Thursday of last week that resulted in the seven arrests. Police say additional arrests are expected.
Search warrants were executed at 102 Davis Street, 211-13 Beattie Street apartment C-12, and 135 Stewart Court apartment J.
Police say they recovered about 500 bags of heroin, heroin processing and packaging paraphernalia, a fully loaded scoped rifle, a fully loaded and defaced revolver, a fully loaded "Mac-10" sub-machine gun, and over $6,000 in cash.
During the investigation, police say several other arrests were made in conjunction with the recovery of hundreds of additional bags of heroin before they executed the search warrants.
Police arrested: Jonathan Perez, 25, Seandell King, 25, Carlos Hernandez, 23, Felix Vasquez, 20, Adrian Rivera, 40, Pedro Galdon, 48, and Alton West, 23.
Police say the group is facing a variety of charges that may include (but are not limited to): criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd, 4th and 7th degrees, criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th degrees, obstructing governmental administration 2nd degree, and resisting arrest.
