SYRACUSE -- October 9th will officially be International Day of Peace in Syracuse. The Syracuse Common Council is making the declaration at its next meeting on Tuesday.

This is in anticipation of the peace forum happening next week at Syracuse University. The event, called "Common Ground for Peace," is expected to attract international attention and is being led by the Dalai Lama.
