A man who had a room at the Syracuse YMCA had his throat slashed on Saturday
SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police are investigating a serious assault that happened at the YMCA on Montgomery Street in Downtown Syracuse on Saturday.
41-year-old Matthew Jefski was found in his room on the sixth floor at the YMCA with a large cut across his neck from what police say is someone slicing his throat.
He was in critical condition and rushed to emergency surgery to control the bleeding and repair major damage to his neck. Syracuse Police are investigating the case in an attempt to determine a suspect.
Police ask for anyone with information for investigators to call them at 442-5302.
Jefski was listed as in serious condition as of Monday morning, according to University Hospital.
