SYRACUSE -- The Post-Standard and Syracuse.com announced cuts to home delivery and staff layoffs earlier this month as the two entities move towards merging into Syracuse Media Group and Advance Central Services Syracuse.
24 new jobs at Syracuse Media Group and Advance Central Services Syracuse are posted on Syracuse.com’s Local Jobs page. The posted openings include reporters, photographers, account executives, IT specialists, and other positions.
The Post-Standard and Syracuse.com said in September that the layoffs are part of a plan to, "reposition themselves for a stronger future in the digital age."
Those who were laid off from jobs at The Post-Standard and Syracuse.com are eligible to apply for positions at the new companies, according to the published statement.
More specific job openings include: Entertainment Manager; News Reporter, Crime; Sports Reporter; Entertainment Reporter; News Reporter, Courts; Content Data Analyst; Digital Sales Consultant; Technical Support Specialist; Network System Administrator; and others.
