POMPEY -- A fire broke out early Thursday morning at a house on Kassonta Drive in the Town of Pompey between Gates Road and City Lights Terrace.

The first call came in to 911 around 5:32 AM. The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, Pompey Hill Fire Department and Fayetteville Ambulance responded to the fire.

A family of four escaped from the home safely.

Neighbors say they were awakened by large explosions and saw flames coming from the garage.
