ITHACA -- At around 3:00 on Monday morning, the Ithaca Police Department says that 39 year old Wendy Kastenhuber passed a note to a female Tops employee demanding money and cigarettes, also displaying a knife and threatening the employee.

The employee set off an alarm sending the suspect running from the store with Tops employees following her.  Officers were quickly on the scene and the suspect was found.  She was positively identified by a store employee.

Kastenhuber was charged with first degree attempted robbery and is being held pending arraignment later today.
