Lights on the Lake opens this week at Onondaga Lake Park

LIVERPOOL -- The annual Lights on the Lake display at Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool opens for pedestrians on Tuesday.

The annual tradition is now in its 23rd year at Onondaga Lake Park.

The park will be open for pedestrians from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Tuesday and dogs are welcome on Wednesday. Both nights are free of charge.

Lights on the Lake opens for cars on Thursday at 5:00pm and runs through January 6 at 10:00pm.

The two-mile stretch of  illuminated, festive holiday displays draws thousands of people to Liverpool each year. The Central New York holiday tradition reached a new record last year with more than 40,000 cars passing through.

Admission is $10 per car Monday through Thursday and $15 per car Friday through Sunday.

Wegmans is selling tickets for $6 through this Wednesday that are good for any day except New Year's Eve.
