SYRACUSE -- Timothy Boyd was sentenced in Onondaga County Court on Monday to ten years in prison for his role in a home invasion that led to a standoff in May.
The District Attorney’s Office says Boyd pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery, first degree burglary, second degree burglary, fourth degree conspiracy, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The District Attorney’s Office asked for a 20 year sentence. Boyd was sentenced to 10 years in prision.
The incident happened at 143 West Matson Avenue back in May. Police were originally called to the residence for a report of a home invasion and robbery but it turned into a near 8-hour standoff.
Police at the time said five suspects planned to rob the residence. A woman arrived home and was greeted by one of the suspects. The woman tried to escape by car but didn't lock the door and was forced at gunpoint back to the house.
The suspects put her into a closet and robbed her house but she was able to make it out as police arrived on the scene.
Officers set up a perimeter around the house to prevent the suspects from escaping. After nearly 8 hours, the four suspects came out of the home.
Michael Sherriod, 28, Sammy Davis, Jr., 24, Cedric Judge, 19, Timothy Boyd, 40, and Nakiiso Tas, 20, all of Syracuse, were arrested following the incident.
