Nottingham may be Class A and CBA may be Class AA but you could throw classifications out the window in this rivalry game.

The CBA Brothers used a fourth quarter spurt to pull away from its Kimber Road rivals and defeated Nottingham on the Bulldogs home turf 28-14 in our Toyota High School Game of the Week.

Nottingham, widely considered to be the underdog, scored first when Marty Clanton hit Tyquon Hightower for a 63 yard touchdown strike. CBA countered with touchdown runs from Joey Pascarella and Demetrius Brown to take a 14-7 lead midway through the 2nd quarter.

From that point, until the start of the fourth quarter the defenses reigned supreme. Nottingham forced turnovers, including one forced by Jeferi Davis and kept their much improved squad in the ball game.

In the fourth quarter though, the Brothers banded together.

Deshawn Salter broke a 30 yard run, part of a 112 yard rushing day for the CBA star, and scored a touchdown in the final stanza. That 30 yard run led to a JR Zazzara touchdown run, before Salter ran in one of his own. Zazzara passed for 70 yards and ran for 60 as the Brothers tripled their lead going up 28-7.

Nottingham, showing true heart, never gave up. Marty Clanton hit Tyquon Rolon for a 30 yard pass where Rolon elevated above the competition to haul in the score, that gave us our final of 28-14.

Nottingham has another tough game next week, taking on East Syracuse-Minoa at the Spartans home stadium while CBA plays host to Utica-Proctor in Week 2.
