SAN DIEGO, CA -- As we reported earlier this week, the outdoor basketball game between the Syracuse Orange and the San Diego State Aztecs on the USS Midway was moved from 8:00 p.m. EST Friday to 4:00 p.m. EST Sunday due to weather concerns.

Some scattered rain showers and gusty winds are possible from time to time Friday and Saturday in the normally dry southern California climate. However, from time to time even San Diego can be under the threat for some rain.

While, you and your friends might be able to play a “pick-up game” of basketball in some wind and rain, college basketball is normally played inside. Any rain on an aircraft carrier might cause some extra slick conditions. So, the thought was to play it safe and wait for a better weather day.

We have already noticed some scattered showers nearby. You can track them here with this link of San Diego’s Doppler radar.

The forecast for 4:00 p.m. Eastern (1:00 p.m. Pacific) calls for nearly a 0% risk for rain and only a very light breeze. This is much better than the higher risk for showers and stronger winds in the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday.

Do you know anyone going to the game? If so, have them post pictures of the game on our Facebook page here.
