Syracuse firefighters battled flames in two vacant buildings near the Coyne Industrial Laundry complex at Oneida and Tallman Streets on Monday evening. The fire, reported about 5:45pm, had firefighters scrambling as the flames jumped from one old house to the next. At one point, they were warned that an open area created a fall hazard. The fire was brought under control within the half hour, however firefighters were at the scene through the evening.+
