A global company with local ties is taking some cost-cutting measures. Honeywell has confirmed that all salaried workers will be taking unpaid time off. That includes workers at the Skaneateles Falls plant.
The company is also cutting back on overtime and subcontractor costs, eliminating discretionary spending and taking other steps to save money.
Honeywell is implementing a temporary work schedule reduction of approximately 10%. It will be in effect from mid-April until September.
Honeywell officials said that customer demand is down.
The Skaneateles Falls plant laid off 290 workers last October.
