SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll presented his 2009-2010 city budget to the Syracuse Common Council on Wednesday. In a letter to the council, the mayor outlined his goals that he says would ‘define this year’s spending plan’, and says that the budget meets or exceeds those objectives.
The budget totals more than $633 million. Approximately $281 million of that is for city operations, and $352 million goes to the school district.
The proposed budget freezes property taxes, but it calls for increases fees for water and sewer services.
