UTICA (AP) -- Prosecutors say a Philadelphia man isn't challenging his return to upstate New York to face charges in the slaying of a New Hartford police officer during a $1 million jewelry store heist.
Marion Pegeses waived an extradition hearing on Thursday during a court appearance in New Jersey, where he's serving 18 years in prison for robbery.
Oneida County prosecutors say it will be a few weeks before the 36-year-old suspect is brought to New York to face murder charges in the February 2006 slaying of Officer Joseph Corr.
Walter Richardson Jr., who police say shot Corr during a chase after the robbery, was killed in a gunfight with police and federal marshals near Philadelphia.
Toussaint Davis was sentenced to 300 years in prison as an accomplice in the robbery.
