Another great Weather Deck Party

The Weather Deck was a busy place Thursday afternoon as we held our second Wayne’s Weather Deck Party.

Once again, it was a tremendous time, honoring numerous organizations and families that have either come through great personal tragedies or just plain day in and day out are doing good things for the community and its people.

With nearly 500 entries so far, it has become a monumental task for Erikka and I to choose who we invite to the parties. If it were simply a matter of selecting sad stories, that might make it a little easier, but not by much.  We have at least 300+ sad stories of folks enduring terrible hard times and tragedies. These folks certainly deserve a weather deck party.  Frankly however, we have many folks out and about, day in and day out doing good things from kind neighbors to outstanding groups and organizations. They deserve a party too.

We have honored seventeen different groups in these first two parties, and we’re certainly not done yet. We have several more parties ahead over the next few months, so I encourage you to go to our Weather Deck Party page and register.

We wouldn’t be able to throw these parties if it wasn’t for our great sponsors who show their support to this community and it’s people each and every day. I’m talking about P&C Supermarkets and Tarson Pools and Spas.  We also want to thank our secondary sponsors who “make it all happen”, TK-99 radio and Galaxy Communications, Able Smith Tent and Party Rentals, Cruisin’ Cones Ice Cream and Syracuse Safety Lites Inc.

Here are the folks we honored at this month's party:

*Fowler High School (lost two teachers this year)
*Patrick Lawler Family (dealing with cerebral palsy)
*Cortland County SPCA
*Epilepsy Foundation
*Liberty Resources Foster Care
*Brenda Reynolds family (great family tragedy)
*Michelle Portorsnok family (family overcoming illness and celebrating a graduation)
