First it was Saturn, now the Saab brand of automobile may be eliminated from the General Motors lineup. G-M announced Friday that it would faze out the Saab brand after a deal to sell it to a Dutch automaker fell through.

It was unwelcome news for Paul Weller who owns the Sports Car Centre of Syracuse, a Saab dealership on Erie Boulevard. Weller says the dealership has been in business for 46 years and employs 16 people. ."We still have to hear from G-M", Weller said, "This is not the thing we wanted to hear."

Also on Friday, the remaining stock of Saturns were delivered to Driver's Village in Cicero which G-M designated to handle warrantee work for the Saturn brand. The delivery follows the closing of the lone Saturn dealership in Syracuse. Former Saturn dealer Emmanuel Boykin called it a "difficult thing. We can never predict the future. The economy played a huge role in everything that happened...we just have to roll with it."
