SYRACUSE -- In and around Syracuse, this is the most amount of snow that has fallen so far this season. Snow plows were going all night long and people have been spending their time with shovel in hand.
There was no relaxing Sunday afternoon for most people around Syracuse.
Susan Rayo was out helping her mom shovel. She said, "We're just clearing away a little snow that fell last night."
Her mom Joan said, "I've been watching it all morning saying, 'Please stop.'"
Lots of people were taking the last few hours of daylight to shovel and clean off their sidewalks.
"It's not too bad. It's very pretty and it's not heavy at all . There is just a lot of it," said Joan.
Joan and Susan Rayo tag teamed their shoveling duties using their old fashioned shovel because a snow blower isn't an option.
Susan said, "My mom and I discussed it. They're much too large. They're much to bulky and large to maneuver and these shovels work."
So clearing the sidewalks takes a little bit longer.
"We might have been out here for a half hour to 45 minutes and we're just going from one drive way to the next and then all the way around the corner," said Susan.
While people who have been our shoveling say they're exhausted from all this snow, plow drivers don't have it any easier.
Jim Massaro with TJ's Lawns Plus spent the day plowing. He said, "We could be out all night tonight and all day tomorrow."
For some plow drivers, this is the first time they've had to be out consistently. This non-stop snow is proving to be a big challenge in keeping driveways and parking lots clear.
Massaro said, "The way it's snowing now, it seems like where we start by the time we get done with our route, we have to go back to where we started."
