SYRACUSE -- An upstate New York massage therapist was sentenced Monday after admitting to secretly videotaping a client as she undressed at his business.
Mark Boice of Jordan pleaded guilty on November 6 to unlawful surveillance in exchange for a promised sentence of one year in jail. He received that sentence Monday morning.
Boice faced up to four years if he had been convicted at trial.
Police said Boice made the secret recording at his home-based business, Natural Health Therapy, in March or April 2008.
The 53-year-old Boice is required to surrender his massage therapy license and agreed to never apply to have it reinstated.
Boice's plea also satisfied an additional charge of possessing a sexual performance by a child. Police said they discovered child pornography videos on Boice's computer.
