ONONDAGA HILL -- Community General Hospital opened it's new Center for Orthopedics Thursday. It is 25,000 square feet that will allow the staff to continue to keep up with their excellence in spine, knee, and hip replacement. Excellus BlueCross BlueShield was also there to honor the facility with Blue Distinction Center Honors for spine, knee and hip surgeries.

The staff says it takes a lot for a hospital to continue to hold the number one ranked spot in New York State for orthopedic services. "Community General has been a true center of excellence as you've heard and we couldn't do that with out the immense number of people that support us, the nursing staff, aids, clinical staff and all the hospital administrators, we thank you then for allowing us to do what we do best," says Dr. Richard Zogby a Syracuse Orthopedic Specialist.

While the ribbon cutting was today, the staff will be able to get in on Sunday to set up and patients will be moved in next Monday.
