Attorneys for Penn Traffic and Tops are working to close on the sale of the supermarket chain by tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. We also have learned that by the middle of next week each store will know whether Tops is keeping it open or whether it is a store under consideration for closure.

Right now the list containing the fate of the stores is under seal by order of the bankruptcy judge in Delaware. Tops will immediately begin operating the stores once the deal closes. The next hearing to address other matters in the bankruptcy case is scheduled for February 17th.
