ONONDAGA -- People in Onondaga are unhappy about plans they say are costing them hundreds of dollars. Thursday night, the town held an information meeting about a sewer project in the Southwood district that has neighbors upset.

The meeting got heated at times, as people spoke out about their concerns. Sewer bills used to be $18 or $20. Now they're up to $230.

Residents were under this impression this money was going towards a housing development, but the town supervisor says that's not true. Supervisor Tom Andino says the extra charge is paying to put a sewer line in for nine properties that are part of the sewer district, but don't get service. Andino says the owners of those nine properties have been paying the $18 $20 charge.

The increased sewer bill will be around for two years.
