Holiday-time staff needed

Meals on Wheels of Syracuse is looking for meal deliverers and kitchen help, as it provides food and cheer to hundreds of shut-ins and elderly daily. Mason Kaufman, executive director, says there's a real staffing pinch during holidays, like the upcoming Winter Break school vacation week, but, he says, that's also a good time for short-term volunteering by people who are not working or going to school. Kaufman says there's an orientation, and volunteers have to agree to a background check, but 'if you can drive, you can deliver meals. For more information: www.meals.org or 478-5948
