SYRACUSE -- A group of local children are hoping to make a difference in the relief efforts in Haiti.
Kids from YWCA Syracuse and Onondaga County's after-school program have been saving their pennies for nearly a month to donate to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
A van-load of kids headed to the Syracuse Chapter of the American Red Cross Tuesday morning to present their collection to the organization. In all, they donated more than $200.
Each YWCA location kept track of the pennies that were donated, and the site that collects the most pennies will celebrate with a pizza party.
