CAMILLUS -- People in Camillus have a new way to protest a controversial part of the Onondaga Lake clean up plan.
New t-shirts were unveiled Monday night at a meeting at the Camillus fire house. The shirts say "No Toxic Waste Dump in Central New York." About 200 people showed up to the meeting to be briefed on the latest information about the plan to dredge Onondaga Lake. The Department of Environmental Conservation wants to put the toxic sediment in an area of Camillus called wastebed 13. Neighbors say the wastebed 13 area is too close to housing developments that have sprung since the plan was first designed.
Tuesday, the Town of Camillus is planning on hiring an attorney to help fight against the plan.
Senator Charles Schumer has also pledged his support.
