SOLVAY -- Senator Charles Schumer was at Crucible Steel in Solvay Monday.

He was talking about how Chinese manipulation of its own currency was hurting American manufacturing.

According to Schumer, it gives American companies a 30 percent disadvantage when selling their products to China. 

If the currency was left alone, he says 2 million jobs would come back to America.  Senator Schumer said: "Tens of thousands (of jobs) which would be in Central New York.  Manufacturing companies would start hiring again!
