State Police say a body has been found in a car submerged in Skaneateles Lake.
According to police, they got a call around 4:30 p.m. Saturday from a man who found the car in the water. Divers and rescue crews from the Skaneateles Fire Department pulled the car out of the water and troopers say there was a body inside. They are not releasing the name of the person as family is notified.
The Skaneateles Marina was shut down for a while Saturday while crews were on the scene.
"All indications look as though it was somebody either not familiar with the area or inattentive to driving and just really drove off into the water from the boat ramp," said Sgt. Ed Foster of the New York State Police.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
