Teacher accused of eating students' lunches

AUBURN -- An Auburn elementary school teacher is facing three counts of petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Alan W. Robinson, a third grade teacher at Genesee Elementary School, had three students use their personal identification numbers to purchase school lunches. According to police the students would bring the food to Robinson's class, where the teacher would eat the lunches and not pay the students or the school for the food.

Police say he admitted to taking the lunches during questioning. The school and police began investigating when the parents of one of the students noticed some unauthorized charges on the student's lunch account. 

Robinson was released with an appearance ticket and is due back in city court Tuesday. Police say more charges are possible.
