ITHACA -- Cornell and the iPad didn't start off on the best of terms.

Monday morning, the Wall Street Journal reported Cornell University was having bandwidth and connectivity errors and internet blogs even said the iPad would be banned from the Cornell campus to ensure network speed.

Monday night, university officials say they will not ban the device, and those connection problems have been resolved.

That's good news for Cornell students. The iPad has a feature that allows users to download books and textbooks, which appeals to freshman Reid Jones. He says "To be able to carry around my textbooks in something as small and light as an iPad, versus carrying three textbooks to go do all my work in between classes, it would help a lot."

But not everyone is enthralled with the iPad. Freshman government major Samir Doshi says, "I have an iTouch, I have a laptop, so I wouldn't buy a gadget, especially on a college budget, if I don't need a gadget."

The Wall Street Journal article also reported George Washington University and Princeton University have had connectivity issues.
