NEW YORK MILLS --
CNY Central has learned the store employee's injuries are considered serious. New York State Police are working the investigation with the New York Mills and Whitestown Police Departments. They are currently interviewing witnesses and will release more information at a press conference at 5pm at the state trooper barracks in Marcy. CNY Central will have a crew there and we will bring you more updates throughout the day.
Update:
Police just wrapped up a press conference and are now confirming two people were shot at the AT & T store on Commercial Drive in New York Mills. Police say an irate customer shot one of the store's employees. Then according to police, an off duty police officer who was in the store shot and killed the customer. The store employee who was injured is currenty undergoing surgery. Police are not saying what law enforcement agency the off duty police officer works for. We have a crew on the scene and will continue to bring you updates throughout the day.

Police are on the scene of a shooting in New York Mills right now. Police confirm there was a shooting at the AT&T on Commercial Drive. At least one person has been taken to the hospital. Oneida County 911 dispatchers say the incident happened just before one o'clock.
The Rome Police Department is also involved. Both the Rome and New York Mills police departments are planning to release information.
