SYRACUSE (AP) -- One of upstate New York's largest cities has been named by Parenting magazine as one of the top 10 healthiest cities in the United States for raising children.

According to the Parenting ranking, Syracuse is listed as the 10th healthiest city for raising children. Richmond, Virginia was listed first in that category.

The best overall city for raising children was another city in Virginia -- Arlington, outside Washington.

Syracuse ranked 72 out of 101 for best overall city to raise children.

The magazine mentioned the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital and Green Lakes State Park among the Syracuse assets considered for the ranking.
