SENECA FALLS (AP) -- A pair of upstate New York police officers found themselves in the middle of a brawl when they tried to arrest a trio of underage drinkers.
Police in the Finger Lakes village of Seneca Falls say the two officers were responding to a report of teenagers drinking in a park.
Authorities say three teenage girls punched, kicked and bit the officers as they tried to get the teens into a squad car
Both officers were treated at the hospital and released.
The teens were charged with assault.
Seneca Falls Police Chief Frederick Capozzi says he's outraged by the attack on his officers.
The girls aren't being identified because their cases could be heard in Seneca County Family Court.
All three are due back in court next month.
