HAMMOND, NY (AP) -- Authorities say a Canadian cargo ship has reached its destination after spending more than two days stuck on a shoal in the St. Lawrence River in northern New York.

U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Carl Kepper says the 740-foot Algobay was refloated late Tuesday night and resumed its voyage to Prescott, Ontario, where it arrived around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The Algobay ran aground Sunday morning in Chippewa Bay in the St. Lawrence County town of Hammond, 100 miles northeast of Syracuse.

The ship was carrying Canadian corn. Its hull was damaged, but officials say no pollution was reported from the grounding. No one was injured.

Kepper says the ship ran aground after losing power. He says the cause of the power outage isn't known yet.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. and the Coast Guard are investigating.
