Funding applications have new focus
The United Way of Central New York, which serves Onondaga County, says it's changing the guidelines for how it gives out money, to better reflect concerns of the community, and of the people who give money.
Frank Lazarski, the executive director, says just completed research shows the economy has changed the landscape of need.
The concentration will be on four focus areas: education, income, health and safety net.
