Heifers stolen out of barn in Ellisburg
(AP) -- A northern New York farmer says someone made off with his prized heifers in broad daylight when he was away for a couple of hours on an errand. A neighbor reported seeing two trucks with cattle trailers ascend the couple's winding driveway and then speed away about 15 minutes later. Conrad Frennier and his wife were away for a last-minute doctor's appointment in Plattsburgh. They found 12 of their best young cows had been stolen from inside the barn. The estimated value of the cows is $15,000.Five of the missing heifers had been shown by the Frenniers at the Clinton County Fair.
State Police ask anyone with information to call the Plattsburgh barracks at 518-563-3761.
