Update: 15-year-old killed in Madison Co. ATV crash

TOWN OF SULLIVAN, MADISON CO. -- Update 1:15pm:  Friends say that Wood was going to work at a dairy farm this morning.  They tell us that he loves the outdoors and cars and was working on a '84 Camaro.  Wood was a student at Chittenango High School.  Family and friends were gathering at his parents house to remember the teen's life. 


A 15-year-old was killed in a crash between an ATV and an SUV Thursday morning. It happened just after 6:00 am at the intersection of Creek and Quarry Roads in the Town of Sullivan.

Caleb Wood, 15, of 6400 Evans Road in Sullivan, died while he was riding an ATV. Madison County Sheriff's deputies say Wood did not stop for a stop sign, rolling onto Quarry Road and into the path of an oncoming SUV. Wood was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no charges filed against the driver of the SUV. Madison County investigators continue to reconstruct the accident.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department reports an accident involving a passenger vehicle and ATV has claimed the life of a teenager. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Rescue crews responded to an accident around 6:30 this morning in the Town of Sullivan.  The accident happened near the intersection of Creek Road and Quarry Road.
