SYRACUSE -- A boy from Chittenango is living out his wish this week, with help from Central New York's Make -A-Wish Foundation and Syracuse University.
14-year-old Jake Penny suffers from cystic fibrosis and has always wanted to write and star in his own film.
Volunteers are making that happen for him this week. Shooting began this afternoon at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Jake wrote a action-packed, superhero-based film.
His father, Anthony says his son has been excited for quite some time about the production.
"Everyday he's been practicing in his room, going online trying to get different ideas--searching for YouTube clips. Anything that would help out. But it's extremely exciting; he's been practicing for at least two weeks straight," Anthony Penny said.
Penny says his son will continue filming all week at the school. The movie should be ready for viewing sometime in September.
