EAST SYRACUSE -- An East Syracuse girl battling cancer, has a whole community of support behind her.

Doctors say Sierra Taylor's cancer is incurable. The 11-year-old has multiple tumors up and down her spine and on her brain.  The doctors haven't given Sierra much time to live.  But since she's already overcome cancer twice, her family isn't giving up hope that she'll show her strength again, and beat it this time too.

Sunday, Sierra was happy and smiling surrounded by her support team. Teachers and staff from the ESM school district organized a fundraiser at the East Syracuse Fire Station.  Hundreds came out to show support at the benefit, and hundreds of dollars were raised.

"Sierra is so surprised. She was not feeling well today, couldn't get her to smile couldn't get her to eat couldn't get her to do anything, she's really not feeling well. And then we got here, she saw all the people and she's been smiling ever since so she's extremely happy."

Sierra's mother is a single mom raising 5 kids. If you'd like to help the family, you can donate by sending a check to the ESEPTO at 105 Gurtha Road, Kirkville, NY 13082.
