FAYETTEVILLE -- Forget about chips and M&M's! There's a new junk food in town, baby carrots.
Fayetteville Manlius High School is just one of two high schools in the country selected as a pilot location to sell baby carrots.
It's all part of a national campaign to market baby carrots to teens. The "eat ‘em like junk food ad's" are all over the internet. So far, students at F-M give the carrots the thumbs up.
F-M is already using low fat foods and whole wheat bread. The school plans to use the profits from vending machines to add even more nutritious foods to their menu.
If all goes well, F-M hopes to have the baby carrot machines as a permanent fixture.
Who knows, maybe baby spinach machines will be next.
