Former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney made a stop in Central New York Monday afternoon to show his support for a congressional candidate.
Republican Mitt Romney, who is also a former governor of Massachusetts, was in Liverpool for the opening of the Republican National Committee Victory Center, which is a call center. He was also there to stump for Republican Candidate Ann Marie Buerkle who is running in the 25th congressional district.
While Romney would not take any questions from the press, he did spend most of his time talking about President Obama and the policies he's pushed through while in office.
"The most important job the president had to do was get this economy back on track," Romney said. "But instead of focusing on the economy he instead used the economy as a means to exploit his real agenda which was to put in place a series of values and principals that Americans frankly don't understand of want."
Romney said it's a "critical time for the country." Romney, who has not announced if he will run for president in 2012, has been making stops around the country.
In the race for the 25th congressional district, Buerkle is running against Congressman Dan Maffei, a democrat. Maffei is seeking his second term in office.
